reader is hard to understand

(3 estrellas)

for me, it is a bit hard to understand the whole introduction. Perhaps because I am an American? Would it be possible for another volunteer to read this as well?

Perfectly intelligible reading - but it's not a history book

Having read the previous reviews urging to ban a certain volunteer from reading in English, I approached the book with some dread. As to the listeners' complaints - yes, it is because you are Americans, and tolerate only specific accents (have you tried Welsh or Scottish??). I understood this reader perfectly, her pronunciation is very accurate (given her Russian/Latvian accent). This is much more than I can say about some North-American readers, who can't read fluently, swap letters in long words - with the result of unintelligible text, and don't do their homework regarding places and names - with the result of funny, if not embarrassing mistakes. Yet another reason you had difficulty understanding the Preface is that it cites books in German (!). I do hope that you haven't mistaken it for unintelligible English... So, dear Pax-Americans, a little tolerance! It is an international project (though based in the US) and it is based on volunteers.

I am so glad you have done this book!!! I only have one complaint. in past I have asked you never let Kristine Bekere read again. Well, once again we cannot understand entire chapters of the txt. She may think she can speak English but trust me, only 10% can understand her and most of them are blood relatives. Please stop allowing Kirstine Bekere to read English. But keep the good comming. Thank you

I enjoyed The Reader's Accent. I find Her delightful with such an important topic. Thank You Young Lady. I was waiting for more.
