People worked hard in the olden days! It basically took all day to make ice cream, unless you wanted plain vanilla. Vanilla's in here, but so are dozens of other options, including granitas (which, we are assured, only take an extra 20 minutes of cranking), flavors with wine, and flavors composed of exotic ingredients with names I can't pronounce. The narration is pretty good, but the recipes will spark your imagination--apricot ice with a bit of adult beverage, anyone?
