The Black Cat (1895-1922) was a monthly literary magazine, publishing original short stories, often about uncanny or fantastical topics. Many writers were largely unknown, but some famous authors also wrote original material for this magazine.
The sixth issue of Volume 3 contains the following five stories:
> "The Heart of God", by Joanna E. Wood: the mysterious disappearance of a priceless diamond is unravelled
> Across the Range, by Kate Woodbridge Michaelis: a woman is faced with the important task of winding up a chronometer
> The Block of Bronze, by Herbert W. Crotzer: learn all about the explorer's fearful encounter with a mummy
> Fragments of an Interrupted Courtship, by Annie T. Rotter: love correspondance in war-times must get creative
> The Celestial Adventure of Sin Loo, by Richard Stillman Powell: by chance, a poor Chinese boy gets whirled into a masked costume party
