Reviews
Very interesting book

I found this book very interesting. Now I got to hear the other side of the story from the notorious alleged member of the Jesse James gang! The reader, Mr Crenshaw has a very good speaking voice, very appropriate for this narration too, though I think he speaks a bit too fast and sometimes and occasionally oddly repeats entire sentences.
Cole Younger's Defense Brief
Alonzo Church
This book has moments (particularly the Civil War bits and describing the Mansfield Minnesota bank robbery which earned Younger his jail term). But much of it is devoted to denying this or that charge, which is more interesting to a jury than the listener. Worth time, but you may want to skip a chapter or two.
Cole Younger not who I thought he was

This book is a whole lot different story than I heard growing.up. I was very surprised by this, I am glad I was able to hear it. Thanks Librivox for this very well read book.

Reader did a good job, but I fear the content (that Cole wrote down) was BS! Cole pretty much denied all he was accused of. Yah right Cole.. All in all, it was a fun 3 hour listen!

History is often written by those with hidden purposes. Like reporters looking for the most outlandish story. The truth is secondary. A thought provoking account. Glad to have read and well read.

I live in the area of Western Missouri around Harrisonville where cole younger grew up. This book is authentic & historic as it could get!

disjointed story with a bland reader. Still, the author is interesting enough to merit the listening
