Fine narration. A little slow in parts but that might be me. The wife is maddeningly long-suffering but thank god she breaks from her passivity when pushed too far. 3 dimensional character. Thumbs up.

Interesting take on marriage. Can’t say I disagree entirely; but then that’s what makes story-telling so engaging.
Great book. Lovely to be taken back to such old times
