The Last Harbinger

5

The Last Harbinger, an elegy in five episodes, shines a bright light on our own world as Roger Gregg tells the story of the doomed people of Moloch. In this narrative, leaders struggle to communicate without a teleprompter, newspeople prioritize their appearance over the news, and citizens remain apathetic despite their dire situation.

Into this world, a messenger is sent to warn the people of Moloch that they are doomed unless they change. However, change is not an easy path, and the harbinger faces significant resistance. While the story is dark, it is not without humor, offering a unique perspective on contemporary issues.

The Last Harbinger was commissioned by Radio Telefis Éireann, the national broadcasting company of Ireland, and was first broadcast by RTÉ Radio I on May 3, 2005.
