Brollies can turn into parasols and parasols can turn into brollies. Spring, summer or autumn, the weather in Ireland typically smiles through its tears, so both shade and shelter, light and dark, are called for in tonight's Drama On One, a brief and broken-hearted comedy about early onset dementia.

Here's Lockie's Umbrella by Philip Davison, featuring Barry McGovern as a poor unfortunate fellow who finds he's astray in himself. The cast includes Marion O'Dwyer as Lockie's wife Bel, Pat Laffan as his lifelong friend Freddie, Anne Byrne as Lockie's daughter Sarah, Brendan Conroy as the Charity Shop Owner, and Kathy Rose O'Brien as the hospital doctor and the befriender in the street. Sound supervision was by Ciarán Cullen and it was produced by Aidan Mathews.
