How Did I Miss This One?

(3.5 estrellas)

I thought I had read all of the GLH books when I was young, but Betty escaped me. Thanks, volunteers, for making it available. The plot seems unlikely; family pressure forces a girl to the altar against her will--but it still happens. A friend of mine married a man she didn't really like because he just wouldn't go away, and this was in the 1980s! This book is lighter on the religious elements, concentrates more on Betty's predicament and her new romance. Very pleasant

I really like this book and i am listening for a second time! The reader is very nice and clear and uses plenty of expression. A very good read.

I love Grace Livingston Hill books. This book did not disappoint. It showed a young girl caught in a potentially impossible situation. She learns to trust God with her struggles against wicked family members. Good prevails. Help does come and a fine young man is in the mix to defend her. It is a sweet read.

I am enjoying the book but consider it more of a modern fairytale. Why can’t these kind of stories end up ‘happily ever after’ without wealth thrown in? It is possible to be very happy without being fabulously rich. I was surprised to have discovered this book also.

Great reading of a sweet story. I always enjoy Grace Livingston Hill stories and the Christian theme that runs through them.
