Today, Morningside presents "Mourning Dove", a one hour fictional drama based in part on the case of Saskatchewan farmer Robert Latimer. You may remember that Latimer was convicted in November 1994 of the second degree murder of his severely disabled daughter. This drama explores the complexities surrounding this case and its moral implications.

In 1993, Robert Latimer, a farmer residing near Wilkie, Saskatchewan, killed his severely disabled daughter Tracy, in what he claimed was a loving act of mercy. His prosecution and imprisonment for murder attracted national and international attention, raising contentious legal and moral issues concerning euthanasia.

Directed by Gregory J Sinclair, the drama features performances by Rh Thomson, Martha Burne, and David MacFarlane. It was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 FM.
