Sublime to experience this classic of literature again 40 years after I first read it.
Quite a great read

Excellent story, I recommend it for a quick and enjoyable read.

The narration was wonderful, particularly considering it was done for free! Keep up the good work and thank you for your efforts Ms. Narrator! :D As for the book itself, I loved how we (the readers) had a chance to try and figure out some elements of the mystery by ourselves in this story. At times, I feel that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s tales rely too much on Holmes just vanishing for a while then coming back with all the answers; however, this novel had a bigger build up of the mystery and its slower development which I appreciated. It’s incredible to think this was written in the late 18th century!

Well I think Sherlock Holmes is just above me or something. I listened to the Hound of the Baskerville's (not through Librivox) and I felt in that story that Watson did all the work. This story I just got lost in too much. I wanted to listen to a few of these stories because I understand the TV show House is based loosely on Sherlock Holmes. I do see the similarities, especially in this story. The narrator was very good and she did a terrific job. I would like to hear more from her.
Pretty good

Not quite as good as The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, but a memorable story nonetheless. I am glad to see that the author has reduced the amount of backstory compared to A Study In Scarlet. There is a slight audio hiss in the background, particularly in the first chapter recording, but this seems to be less noticeable in the other chapters. It is well-read.

What an eventful book full of suspense and mysterious happenings! Once again I am utterly amazed by the writing talent of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle! Great novel! I listened to this marvelous book in one rainy day! Thank you so very much LibriVox for making this book available for me. Such a splendid mystery! ~ An Author
