Wonderful

(5 Sterne)

Karen Savage, our family is absolutely addicted to your voice! You have an incredible talent, indeed. We listen to you every night at bedtime. We just can't get enough. Thank you for donating your time and your talent. I will always cherish the precious family moments we share while listening to your recordings. My child always begs for "one more chapter, please ". Thank you, also, for getting my child more interested in books. You have truly sparked imaginations! KAREN SAVAGE: #1 LibriVox reader! Your accent is to die for, your voice is soothing, your words are crisp, and you have flawless pronunciations. Thank you!

Great Family Read

(4,5 Sterne)

Great book, a story narrated by a child about the escapades of himself and his siblings. This is a family of witty, creative and clever children with strong morals but ever so many questionable ideas on how to acquire money to help their family. Our whole family truly enjoyed this book. The reader also did an excellent job.

Amazing reader!!

Oh my goodness! How can you say she was a terrible reader! Karen is one of my all time favorites! She does all the accents terrifically well. I totally enjoyed her reading of this lovely story. Thanks Karen!

Treasure!

(5 Sterne)

This reminds me of Art Linkletter's, "Kids say the darnedest things" (1950~60?) I haven't laughed so hard for years! Shedd a few tears too. Thank you librivox and Karen Savage. Ms. Savage is such a good reader, I wish I could talk so well.

great book great reader. she makes it sound so exiting. I don't get why she is getting bad reviews she brings the reading to life. Thank you!

such a treasure!

E. Nesbit and Karen Savage are a match made in heaven. I love the subtle wit, darling stories, and powerful lessons learned in these books. Nesbit does a great job of keeping things moralistic without being heavy-handed. And Karen Savage is just brilliant. Her style of reading is perfectly suited for the conversational nature of this story in particular, although I have yet to hear something she read that I DIDN'T like.

Sweet and Charming

Having a vivid imagination and a large set of siblings myself, this story is so pleasant and easy to listen to. It is similar to the feels of A Secret Garden or A Little Princess. And as always, Karen Savage is the perfect narrator.

A Great Listen

(5 Sterne)

Story: With her usual charm and wit, E. Nesbit tells a heartwarming tale of a family of children who decide to hunt for treasure in order to restore their family fortune. This book actually had quite a bit of subtle humor that I really appreciated. If—like me—you grew up with several siblings and relatively little adult supervision (at least during the summer), then I'm sure that you will find parallels between your own childhood and that of this book's protagonists. Narration: The reader does an absolutely wonderful job with this story. I felt she really captured the tone of the book, and I have zero complaints.
