Sir Walter Scott
Follows the fortunes of the son of a noble Saxon family in Norman England as he woos his lady, disobeys his father, and is loved by another. Set in late 12C England and in Palestine with Richard Cœur-de-Lion at the Crusades, it's another ripping historical yarn by Scott. (summary by annise) (19 hr 24 min)

I read this book multiple times in my life yet listening to it again still got me excited. Unfortunately I still am not able to convince my wife that I need a sword.

An excellent story that is well written. The readers were great for the most part although there was a reader or two that was hard to understand.

Enjoyable book that was well read. The changes of readers did cause some distractions, but I was able to adjust to the change after a few minutes.
Classic book, dry readers.

The reader for almost the first half of the book was great, but whoever read the final act was very monotonic and sounded as bored as she makes those who listen to her droning feel.
the reader is clear, but she did struggle with a few words. the description states that the work is read by volunteers, so i suppose it can be forgiven.
mostly bad readers monotonous , and bad pronunciation , though some you could tell, they were trying . much too slow.
so strange, Read well.
I found this to be an enjoyable window into a history I am not familiar with. The story does not seem to follow normal arc and I was very surprised to find myself at the end.

Some of the readers were outstanding. I plan to listen again in the future. Thank you to all the volunteers. Thank you to those who founded Librivox.
