This is an awesome story read by Mark Nelson he is my favorite sci fi reader on librivox, you should hear him read the cosmic computer just as good easy to follow keep up b the good work

short and sweet

very short story but a very good one with a great twist at the end.

Grey (i.e. 1/2 way) lorn (i.e. doomed)

(3,5 Sterne)

The story however, is 3/4. It was very good; yet there were sections that could have been expanded on; & the ending seemed rushed (like a deadline was being met/beat). The wrap-up at the end was satisfactory, yet could - as mentioned - have been expanded to make a chapter or two more. Also, though it'd probably fall on deaf ears, someone could have mentioned a bit more, about Earth's plight superseding petty self-interests. This could have been a 4 & a half to 5 star read were that the aforementioned marks had been hit.

Meh

(2 Sterne)

A tedious waste of a typically fine narration by Mark Nelson. This is a stereotypical 1950s space adventure, complete with all-male crew, silly science, and ludicrous sociology. This was Laumer’s First published story; fortunately, he went on to do better stuff. Give this one a pass.

This is a good one

I heard this once a while ago but forgot most of it. Action-packed adventure in space. It has no dull moments, and the characters are all believable. Being a shorter story makes it easy to complete on one car trip.

A good sci-fi short.

A good story line & plot, but seemed a little rushed at the end, it would have been nice if it had been just a little longer. Classic science fiction, I recommended it. Mark Nelson does a wonderful job as usual.

Great story Great reader

Very imaginative fun story full of excitement and wonder! Very thought provoking book. Read nicely and professional level narration which is what I've learned to expect from Mark Nelson. One of my top 5 narrators!

not the best

Despite having been read by the amazing Mark Nelson and the fact that i enjoy this era of sci-fi, there was nothing in this book to make it worthwhile when so many others are better.
