The Last Journals of David Livingstone Vol. 1
Gelesen von KHand
David Livingstone and Horace Waller

Known primarily as a missionary, David Livingstone headed into the wilds of Central Africa, intending to find the course of the Nile. Documenting his travels in his journal, it becomes evident that Dr. Livingstone was much more than a missionary. He was also able to plot his locations on a map using the stars, well versed in the wildlife of the lands though which he traversed, and knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. His missionary skills allowed him to judiciously handle run-ins with warring factions and slave traders. This volume is an interesting compilation of successes, failures, and illnesses while also broadening the reader's understanding of Central Africa in the late 19th century.
