BSWA-Guided Meditation

The recordings here are from the BSWA and the teachers are from the Dhammaloka Monastery.   How Guided Meditation Works Guided meditation is an  extremely powerful  way of eliciting change in your life, due to the nature of the way the mind works. When you experience something in real life your brain changes it's neural pathways, and will pass on information to your subconscious mind to store for future use. For example if you wanted to become great at learning languages, your brain has already stored previous experiences of you trying to learn a language. If the experience was good you will be better at learning, if your experience was bad the chances are it will be very difficult to learn a new language. What guided meditation helps to do is reprogram your mind by directly accessing your subconscious mind and give it a new, better experience. Your brain does not distinguish between a real event and an imagined event. So if you imagine something in your mind, your brain takes it that you've actually experienced what you were imagining and forms new neural pathways to be stored for future use. The Buddhist meditation attempts to alter and change the roots and paths in the mind that creates negative or bad effect pathways and promote and develop "Good Creating" roots and paths. The process of mediation has to be done individually, but at the beginning to be guided by an experienced teacher is very useful and beneficial.
