Aimee Copeland was injured when a makeshift zipline over the Little Tallapoosa River broke. She severely injured her leg, and was later diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis. She lost parts of all four limbs due to the infection and doctors told her she had little chance of survival. She is a surviver and a thriver and it was an honor to talk to her about her story.
