Nice story the reader sings well but has an unnatural modulation when reading that is tiring.

This is a very good read!

This book has a wonderful weaving story that is just the kind of thing that the author is known for! I love the female characters that are so well written and highlighted! It is also a book that every Christian should read. It helps you see your own faith and how you display it to other people in a new light. It has certainly given me food for thought and also helped me make some decisions on different ways I will approach those who do not know Christ. I'm going through all the Grace Livingston Hill books I can find! She is a fabulous author and worth listening to some of the volunteer readers who aren't quite as proficient as people who get paid to do this! I appreciate them all and it hasn't kept me from loving these books!

Rewarding Read

(5 Sterne)

This is a wonderful Grace Livingston Hill book, with the sweet, wholesome love story, and pleasant ending we all love. This is a lighter, refreshing Grace Livingston Hill book, in the sense that there are no cruel and abusive family members tormenting one of the main characters for 3/4 of the chapters. I also really liked how the main character in this book came to Christ slowly; it was a gradual process as she came to understand about the faith.I felt like this was a nice portrayal of how some people come to the Lord over an extended period after much seeking and learning. Of course I’m not saying the book is entirely realistic, there’s a lot of the sappy and over dramatic parts too. But if you’re anything like me, that’s one of the reasons you keep coming back to GLH books!

A beautiful story!

Stick with this story! Though many may find this book to seem outdated due to the era it was written, or write it off as too pointedly religious, it still captures the inner workings of human behavior, thinking, and moral tendencies. All of this is woven together wonderfully and through many twists and turns to present a love story involving personal redemption and changed outlooks. Very refreshing and inspirational in its timelessness! Like other reviews, I only wish the ending hadn't been so abrupt.

A wonderful story

I can't believe it took me so long to listen to this story. I like stories that interest me right off the start. For some reason this one did not, but I continued to listen and was very glad I did. As the story unfolded, I began to grow fonder of the story and it's characters. The reader did a great job as well. It's definitely a book to listen and see how God speaks to our hearts.

God works in mysterious ways...

th beginning - OK ... but further on - irresistible ... th reader it's clear n i luv, luv her singing it's waaay better than sum solo recordings - audio books tht iv heard ... it's so soothing ...th middle of th book another romance occurs - tht keeps u interested until th last n best part of th story :) ...hope u enjoy !

beautiful story

the story and narration were both beautiful, but I still believe England missionaries should not have tried to convert people to their own religion , and condemn other religions as they did in India, but they have brought about such changes in the law, that were necessary, so I don't resent it, just it makes me a bit sad

This has been different than any other Grace Livingston Hill book I have read. Generally before the first chapter is over one knows without a doubt who Prince Charming will be but this time I wasn’t quite so sure because he always kept disappearing and never declared his love for her. A nice read!
