Quite charming series

I remember The Halls of Ivy from 1950. My parents had just purchased their first home that year and the Silvertone console radio was properly assigned it's place in the living room. Too young to really appreciate the program back then. I was a kid adventure story fan. As I listen to it now, I am struck by how charming the scripts were...and the acting of Ronald and Benita Coleman. Gentle humor and modest scenarios leave me with a warm and comfortable feeling by the end of each episode. Thanks for including it here.

It's a good and gentle show, one that didn't shy from some issues. For us now, the shows seem slow, quaint, innocent. Still, they have the power to bring "how it was" and how good acts can bring folks together. Fans of the Colemans from the Benny show maybe felt disappointed, but the quality of the stories and acting remain, and here they are for all!
Ronald Colman starts in Episode #2

Episode number 1 is a pilot episode with Gale Gordon playing Dr. Hall. Ronald Colman and his wife Benita Hume take over the starting roles in Episode #2, in which they redo the first episode. So you should begins listening with Episode number 2! Lovely stuff. Such a beautiful voice! Ronald Colman must have sold a lot of radios back in the day!
