The Hound of the Baskervilles
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Read by Laurie Anne Walden

What really killed Sir Charles Baskerville? Is his nephew, Sir Henry, in danger from the legendary family curse, a gigantic black hound? Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are on the case in this classic mystery, set on lonely Dartmoor in Devonshire. Neolithic ruins, a perilous quagmire, eerie sounds in the night, and (of course) fog all add to the fun, with an escaped convict thrown in for good measure. Reader has performed admirably. She was able to convey the story in a manner that remained easy to listen to & entertaining.
Excellent reading only missing character voices

A LibriVox Listener
This was my 3rd audio book and the first read by a woman. I thought the reader read at a brisk pace that was perfect. The story is great and not too long. I gave 4 stars and not five as the other two readers had done character voices when reading which I thought was outstanding
Great book and well read

Thanks to librivox for the opportunity to listen to many books for free and big thanks to reader, she's a good in tone of reading, impressions of situation and clear American accent. Well done and keep up the good works
Great story enthusiastically read

The Goat
Among Conan Doyle's finest works. Narrator reads very well, briskly and clearly with her American accent. Narration actually grew on me as the story progressed. Unlike some Librivox readers she obviously knows and understands the book and intones appropriately.

Not my normal kind of book, but I decided to give it a try and I’m glad I did as I found it really interesting throughout. The narration is done with a southern American drawl, I think, and I have to say that I found it quite appealing! Well worth a listen, even if you are not sure whether it is your sort of thing!

My favorite Sherlock Holmes story read by one of my favorite librivox readers. She is gifted in her ability to keep each character distinct throughout—whether male or female—while consistently speaking in her very feminine voice. This she does in all the books she has read for librivox: this I know, because I have listened to them all multiple times.
