Sara Crewe is a very intelligent, polite, and creative young girl. Born to a wealthy soldier in India, Sara was brought all the way to London in Victorian-era England for a formal education. At the upscale boarding school, Sara is forced to tolerate the haughty, disdainful headmistress, Miss Minchin. Unfortunately, things only get worse for Sara when her father's bankruptcy and death leave her impoverished and at the mercy of the jealous Miss Minchin. Sara undergoes numerous trials as she humbly allows herself to be subjected to servitude, but with the help of several dear friends (both seen and unseen), she remains as proud and unwavering and imaginative as ever, proving to all that she is, as the title says, "a little princess." great recording of sweet little girl story

(5 stars)

an excellent dramatic recording by many wonderful readers. a few small variations from the movie versions i have seen. but a wonderfully descriptive book. and to hear Becky be described at the end as having rosy cheeks! when she has always been depicted as a black child in the movies. breaks stereotypes. a book that can be enjoyed by princesses young and old.

every girl is a princess

Every girl is a princess no matter how old are young, no matter what situation they live in, this is what I learned from this book but also from the movies that just based on the book. this book is a classic and I will read it to all my children for years to come.

Loved it.

The dramatic reading was great, and really put some life in to the story. My only complaint is that some of the voice recordings, such as Sara, were a different volume than the narrative and it made it hard to listen.

I love this book, but the recording added some nice detail. (It's helpful, to have different people for different characters) 👑💖 I loved reading this with the recording. (It helps to also read when you have the narration for me)

(5 stars)

Although The voice actor for the part of Sara sounded like she was speaking from under a blanket, it was a delightful listen and quite professionally done by all.

some of the audio was a bit difficult to hear, as in muffled? I enjoyed it though, the portrayal of Ms. minchin was my favorite. her voice was similar to that of the film version.
