Reviews

A Gripping Tale

I was impressed by the relative fairness with which Bierce examines the Catholic Faith in the seventeenth century. The tale was excellently written and got a hold on my emotions that very few works can manage. I enjoyed this greatly. The narrator does an okay job, but his pacing might seem odd to some. If you are capable of adjusting to a narrator quickly, give this a try. If not, perhaps just read this on your own.

a good tale gone wrong

An excellent story! I am thankful that you took your to read this interesting tale

Well……

One of my favorite readers and he especially added the sardonic touch this story needed

Mildly entertaining story

The readers voice was perfect fir the main character, though a bit diffucult to listen to.

This work was translated by Bierce. The original writer is evidently obscure.

Strange but really good!

The ending is very surprising!!
