Very interesting listen, enjoyed very much. Neat insight into some of the people that helped form the USA.

A fantastic story and beautifully read. I think all young boys should read or listen to it. Thank you.

great story just a shame the writer went over the top with the characters prowess he sounds like a cross between a wild animal and a super hero. saying that I was still glued to the story.
Delightful

This was an interesting story with a pace that moved well. The descriptions were interesting without being elaborate. The reader, Mr. Maroney, was excellent and I hope to hear more stories read by him.
Very Interesting Story, Very Well Read

A. E. Maroney reads this book as if he himself is Henry Wear. Some parts of the story sounds very much like the life of Daniel Boone.

First of all, it is very well read by the same narrator all the way through. The story from youth to adulthood in early days of Kentucky are akin to any story you might hear from Daniel Boone or Davy Crockett. From founding a small village into a compound and the challenges that come with that. The storyline of the main character seems familiar but interesting all along. I would give it five stars but It wrapped up a little early and not very climactic. As it might be based on a true story, that could very well be the end of the tale. I think you'll enjoy it if you're looking for something that you can casually listen to and put her around the yard.
What a story

Definitely one of the better books I've listened to. The narrator was super. Thank you. The book follows a young woodsman's life.
