In a word, wonderful! I laughed and cried...

I "couldn't put it down," and am anxious to begin the next book in the series. The readings of Anne and Murilla were especially good, and have made me think about volunteering as a reader myself. Great job!
A Great Recording
A LibriVox Listener
Almost all of the readers are very strong, especially the narrator/Anne. There are a couple of voices that don't fit the characters, but even then everything is understandable and clear. I listen to this version of these books at least twice a year, and they never get old. It's a wonderful story appropriate for anyone of any age.
Very Good!

The book is read very well. My kids enjoyed it very much. The narrator and Anne are read by a superb reader! However some of the other characters' audio is quite poor and the voices don't fit the characters. For example Diana is read by someone who sounds quite old and aunt Josephine by someone who sounds quite young. Since the other characters' lines are short it didn't bother us too much. Overall we enjoyed the book nonetheless! Highly recommended!
great. :)

anne of green gables is a great story! and the performance of the readers, especially anne , is brilliant. the only reason i rate it a 4 and a half star is because of the unsuitable voice of diana. the voice sounds like a woman or maybe even a boy mocking to sound like a little girl! Orelse everything is great and its a very enjoyable audio! :) Thank you very much!!
Fantastic

A emotional roller coaster with Anne , a very great novel. A very great Librivox dramatic reading. I couldn't stop listening for wanting to know what was going to happen next. It made me happy, sad, laugh and cry. This is a very good story and I can't wait to move on to the next book in this series. A must listen so lend a ear and enjoy!

I love listening to this book,I think the readers did a great job,but I don't think Matthew sounded right. Matthew just was not very convincing in this book; I couldn't be completely wrapped up in the world of Anne of Green Gables. All in all though, I do think it was pretty enjoyable. Great job you guys! Five stars!
Excellent

I love this story ! am just in love ! really appreciate all those who have recorded these books ! I wish people in the review wouldn't single out one person's voice as horrible because it was not and that person volunteers there time to record this for us ! so not liking the voice is fine but talking about in the review is just rude.

This was a delightful "dramatized" reading of Anne of Green Gables. The voice of Anne was absolutely perfect. She was the shining star out of all the readers -appropriately so as was her importance in the book! Marilla, Matthew and Rachel were very good as well. Gilbert's voice was a little too animated but reminded me of the Gilbert from the original movies which was a more or less pleasant surprise. Unfortunately Diana and Aunt Josephine were almost unbearable. Diana's reader was, as others have stated, an elderly reader. She was expressive and read well I'll give her that! But definitely out of place for a voice for a child. Aunt Josephine's reader was young, unexpressive, flat and at times difficult to understand. They should have switched roles for them in my opinion. I made it through with excellence of Anne's reader and the fact that Diana's and Aunt Josephine's readers weren't in it that often. I am a tough critic I admit, but do so appreciate the time and volunteers for this fun, free audio book!
