Maxwell House Coffee Time
First Day of School
by
Maxwell House Coffee Time is a variety program built around music and comedy, offering a light entertainment mix for radio listeners. Its format brings together spoken performances and musical selections rather than following a single continuing story.
The program’s appeal lies in the contrast between its comic material and its songs, creating an easygoing listening experience suited to a relaxed break. The episode title, “First Day of School,” suggests a school-themed subject for this broadcast, while the variety-show format provides the broader setting.
With its blend of humor and music, the show offers a snapshot of mid-century radio entertainment: conversational, accessible, and designed to keep the mood cheerful.
