The Boys Life of Mark Twain
Albert Bigelow Paine
Read by John Greenman
Albert Bigelow Paine was Samuel Langhorne Clemens' (Mark Twain's) biographer. He lived with Twain, collecting ideas and material for a biography, for a few years before Twain's death in 1910. Six years later Paine published this "story of a man who made the world laugh and love him".
For those who have read or listened to Mark Twain's works, Paine's work is an invaluable resource to better understand Twain, the stories behind his stories and his life with those he loved and with whom he worked. (Summary by John Greenman) (8 hr 50 min)

Outstanding! Mr. Bigelow's words, through the medium of Mr. Greenman, make this biography one the greatest of all time. It may be the best audio book ever made - I consider it as such.

Amazing Story of Mark Twain
Starlite001
If you haven't listened to any of Mark Twain's books, I highly recommend you do before listening to this. It is absolutely an amazing story and explains where all of Twain's Characters come from. You will find yourself thoroughly entangled in Twain's life as you listen to LibriVox's 'Voice of Mark Twain' John Greenman tell your this story. You will laugh and you will cry. I wish I could give this more then 5 stars!!!

This was a terrific book, made all the better by John Greenman's amazing narration. I frequently found myself forgetting that this was being narrated, so convinced was I by the way the reader took on the role. I feel inspired to listen to more books by Mark Twain, now that I've become acquainted with him. I never realised how popular he was or how remarkable. And I'll be looking out for more books by Albert Paine too.
A great biography of a great man

This is the best biography I have ever read. Both the writer and the reader have Mr Clemens such a true representation that I resent death for putting a stop to it all.
what a revelation
