I cannot add much to the other reviewers except to say that this kind of story read so well made my heart lighter as it was devoid of the sadness and horror which has been some part of my life. As an Army combat veteran I have seen and heard and felt the real thing and have no interest in the dark side of life. This would be, in my opinion, much better reading for anyone than most of todays books and stories which are so much a part of the news, movies, etc. of today. God bless the reader and Librivox.
Fun pre-teen mystery

To say anything beyond Jo's summary would risk giving away too much of the story. Suffice to say this is an engaging mystery/adventure centered on two teen-age girls and a vacant summer cottage. The story is not terribly deep or fantastic - and that was part of the charm for me. It's believable - two girls acting like two girls (for good and bad) as they try to work out what's going on next door. As reader, J. M. Smallheer (notyouraveragejo) is excellent. She invests the girls with personality and emotion so that this was an engaging and light story to listen to.
Good story

I think I have listened to this one time before, but forgot to review it. This story is about two teenagers who stumble across a mystery literally in their backyard. Being naturally inquisitive, they decide to play detective and solve the puzzle. Little do they realize that they are not the only ones playing detective! The reader does her usual fine job with reading. This is a very nice, light, and sweet book, worth giving a listen to. Enjoy!
Cute Story - Excellent Narration

This was another sweet little mystery, not terribly deep as the previous reviewer said. I really liked the story and the girl chums and Rags the dog! J. M. Smallheer is a wonderful narrator. Her voice is charming to listen to and I think I might need to download another book by this same author and narrator! Thanks for a great job of narration!
Pretty entertaining
Ancient Aunt
This is a pretty entertaining tale about girls in their late teens getting swept up in mysterious happenings while they are visiting seaside cottages out of season (late summer). Pretty innocuous and gentle; clean fun from an era nearly a century old.
