Morals and Common Sense Obligation
mcoates2
Small companies like Radio Spirits put a lot of time and money searching for the programs they sell. Quite often, these broadcasts are below broadcast quality. Radio Spirits purchases and maintains sound-improvement equipment. They then add a lot of labor from sound improving experts. That's why their quality results are better than you will find elsewhere. No one will knock on your door and confiscate your collection of Radio Spirits purchases, but uploading what some small company put their money and effort into may be a moral issue. Think about it. If everyone did it, these companies who sell quality copies will go out of business. Many shows will stay lost or at sub-broadcast quality. Oh, and by the way, Radio Spirits and others "purchase" their programs too so that they can start off with the best possible quality and end up with super quality shows with artwork and interesting information about the shows. I'm not judging anyone, just offering something to think about.
Lost and Now Found

Unlike most reviews on this show, my review will be novel in that it addresses only the show's content. I am happy to discover these episodes that are not in the usual rotation on XM Radio or anywhere that features classic radio shows. I may be in the minority, but I would like the Phil Harris & Alice Faye show more if they wouldn't sing! The storylines alone are funny enough to carry the shows. The subject matter is timeless, so the jokes have not lost their zing over the passing decades. Rather than editing out the commercials -- which I find fascinating as commercial time capsules of what we bought way back when -- if only the songs could be edited out.
Radio Classics is a joke

Radio Classics charges WAY too much money for these programs. I can run these shows thru an audio cleaner that I downloaded online for free, and get rid of most of the hiss and poor audio quality. Radio Classics charges $25 and up for these programs. I've downloaded every major show, and created my own classic collection, which did not cost me a dime. If you pay for it, good for you. If you don't, who cares.
"thief"?

Not sure how the uploader is called a "thief", considering these aren't copyrighted. "Radio Spirits" is selling audio that is out of copyright, they can if they want to- but they do not own the programming. The public does. Frankly, I'm glad the uploader shared these. I like the show, and I have a personal distaste for these grabby sellers that think they have the patent on these previously recirculated audio files.

Most of these programs were admittedly taken from the exclusive programs in Radio Spirits collections. Posted on Facebook Apr 3, 2015 by Jake Westbrook to group Old Time Radio Lovers "I just posted about 120 "Lost Episodes" of the Phil Harris/Alice Faye show to Internet Archive (by "lost" I mean they're either not in regular circulation or were previously only available through Radio Spirits albums)."
Thank you for these!

I'm on a fixed income and I can't afford to buy them.
