(4.4 stars; 4 reviews)

Amerigo Vespucci was, arguably, the first person to explore North and South America from Cape Hatteras to Uruguay or Argentina, 35° north latitude to about 35° south latitude (excluding much of Central America), and further southeast to the island of South Georgia. He is the explorer from which America derived its name.

Not only does this work contain the letter of Amerigo Vespucci to Pier Soderini, describing his first four voyages, it also includes a biography on Vespucci, a geographical summary of the voyages, and other notes and analyses. - Summary by TriciaG
