Reviews
Creepy thriller
ListeninginChicago
Excellent reading by Lee Ann Howlett. She does great work for Librivox, so be sure to check out all her books. And the book was a page turner. I didn't realize that Hitchcock made of movie of this (did he? that's from another comment), but I can picture this as a Hitchcock thriller - a very subtle and scary as we watch people fit things together and then watch how they respond to their own knowledge.
Thee book is a "page turner"...
lanternland
The book is a "page turner" but the story, the reactions and behavior of the characters, made no sense at all ... Oh yeah we know the upstairs lodger is really jack the ripper so let's just keep it secret, shall we, why not?...and the homicidal maniac serial killer upstairs wants to take my beloved wife and daughter out so, sure, hey, why not?...and, oh yeah, the serial killer just threatened to kill me, so sure I'll keep the front door unlocked tonight, why not? And what did the last line mean anyway, about the Buntings new employer who "both respected and feared them"? Feared them? Why? I must have missed something. Stupid book - or, again, am I missing something? - but well written, and, as I've noted before, Lee Ann Howlett is a really really good reader.
Curious & Creepy
Angels Walk
This is a pure psychological thriller, without much in the way of thrilling, but more in the way of all consuming! I found myself feeling exactly as Mrs. Bunting did, tword her "Lodger", which is, not wanting him to be guilty! I was so creeped out by the end, that I had to give myself a bit of time before finishing the last few moments of the book. Really supremely written for effect, and drew me right along on a disturbing romp through the imagination.....
IMPRESSED
Radiocaster
Having not really heard of this story other than hearing about the Hitchcock film so I thought I would give it a go. Well I Thought it was a very intresting story I dont think that it need's so much written about but just for the very good reading of it by the reader alone deserves checkin out and so I would strongly recommend it!
Excellent!

Excellent murder mystery with subtle hints along the way. The narration is flawless. The characters are well defined and the story is so good I couldn’t put it down. I’m not a big fan of murder mysteries but this story may change that.
Pretty good book

Other reviews and summary pretty much cover the story line. I liked the reader and the story, but I kind of felt unsatisfied with the ending. Overall it is a good book and I would recommend it.

Oh my, the suspense! This is the best mystery I've heard in a long time! And kudos to the reader, too.
