The Clitheroe Kid - 1950s/60s. Comedy, British. Vintage instalments of the classic radio comedy starring Jimmy Clitheroe . The source of those items marked [Dermot A Maher] is understood to be the collection circulated in 2008 by Derek Boyes , who conducted a three year hunt between 2005-08 for recordings of the show taped by listeners from the original broadcasts, in a huge public appeal made across the whole of the UK, by advertising for old reels and audio cassettes of the show in local newspapers. Derek found some missing episodes, and a lot of better quality recordings of episodes for which some type of recording had previously been known. Presented here are only pre-1967 episodes (i.e. those for which the broadcaster's copyright has expired). Note : The 50 year period of broadcast copyright under section 14(2) of the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988 (http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1988/48) has expired for all items in this collection.
