Cinnamon Bear
Robert Farrell
The Cinnamon Bear is an enchanting old time radio program produced by Transco, designed to be enjoyed six days a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It first aired from November 26 to December 25, 1937, with some markets, like Portland, Oregon, starting as early as Thanksgiving Day on November 25.
In its inaugural season, Portland broadcast the program on two stations, KALE at 6:00 PM and KXL at 7:00 PM. Although the program faced syndication issues in 1940, it returned to the airwaves nationally in 1941 after being sold to Broadcasters Program Syndicate. The Cinnamon Bear continued to delight audiences into the 1950s under the syndication of Lou R. Winston.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

charming children's program

Queen Melissa in The Cinnamon Bear is played by Rosa Barcelo, who is also Joan Gregory in "The Magic Island" - also on archive old time radio- which is ostensibly for children, but enjoyed by adults as well ;) thank you uploader

Ever since my mom and dad talked about the Cinnamon Bear, they both listened to it when they were little . I always wanted to hear it and then lo and behold it was uploaded I played them an episode and they said that was it, it's been a holiday tradition in our family now.
Childhood favorite

I enjoyed listening to this program on the radio when I was a kid and am nostalgic for it during the holidays. Sometimes we play it more for me than the kids. I appreciate finding it again.
I love it!
