Ancient living machines that after millennia of stillness suddenly begin to move under their own power, for reasons that remain a mystery to men. Holati Tate discovered them—then disappeared. Trigger Argee was his closest associate—she means to find him. She's brilliant, beautiful, and skilled in every known martial art. She's worth plenty—dead or alive—to more than one faction in this obscure battle. And she's beginning to have a chilling notion that the long-vanished Masters of the Old Galaxy were wise when they exiled the plasmoids to the most distant and isolated world they knew.... - Summary by Original text (8 hr 51 min)

unique story

(5 stars)

A different story than the usual sci-fi world conquering ones and good plot twists all the way through. And read very well as usual

An interesting tale

(4.5 stars)

It’s a longer story, it’s got a fair few twists and turns. I enjoyed it. It’s interesting to have a female protagonist in older sci-fi. The book has a few parts I felt I wasn’t sure what was going on, but I just let it roll and all was ok. Great reading as always.

Excellent sci-fi, don't let the title fool you.

(5 stars)

Great story from the age of space operas,. Even though it's on the short side as stories go it was full of some pretty good "twists and turns" in the plot and as good as anything written today. Mark nelson does an excellent job as usual. Very entertaining.

Excellent story

(5 stars)

The storytelling it slightly choppy in a few places, leaving you wondering what is going on until it's explained, but otherwise this is an excellent story. If would fit well among modern Sci-Fi stories such as The Fifth Element and the Valerian comics, and has aged very well.

(3.5 stars)

Great story with a thick plot, which would deserve a bit more details, and a little less speed (the story, not the narrator) to fully appreciate it. However, the sexism in this book and pathetic behavior towards and between women is something else... even for the early sixties.

Great book,best narrator ever!

I really loved this one, entire time Mark was breathing life into characters so genuine and with true passion that i listen to entire book through 2 listening,, just couldn't stop listening , LOVE FROM BOSNIA! 🖖🙋👽

(5 stars)

Interesting book, hard to follow in some parts. However, as the story progresses it becomes easier to understand what is going on. I would recommend this to any science fiction fans. Definitely worth reading or listening too.

Legacy (Version 2)

(5 stars)

Excellent listen, with a story which zigs and zags through a veritable maze of out-of-universe experiences and human drama with a pinch of romance thrown in for fun... Recommended :)
