Bob and Ray WOR 012 March 28, 1973
Join Bob and Ray as they embark on a comedic journey aboard the Hummingbird Express train to Seattle. In this episode, Webley Webster opens the show, joined by broadcaster Wally Ballou, who is contemplating a run for mayor of New York. The duo humorously navigates through historical anecdotes, including a discussion about President Andrew Jackson's censure by the U.S. Senate.
As the show unfolds, listeners are treated to a variety of segments, including household tips, a non-impression of Doris Day, and the antics of the McBeeBee twins. The episode also features a dramatization of 'Mary Backstayge, Noble Wife', set on the train, where secrets and comedic misunderstandings abound.
Despite some technical difficulties with the sound, the charm and wit of Bob and Ray shine through, making this a delightful listen for fans of classic radio comedy.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

It makes me proud...

... to think that I contributed my modest mite to the archive by recording the Bob and Ray WOR show back when-- with the single-mindedness that only an adolescent can bring to such a task. (I started taping on day two or three and for many months thereafter.) Years later, I turned over all my holdings to David Pollock and was ultimately rewarded with credit in his book.on B and R. Lovely to know that, in all probability the fruits of my labor will outlive me. -- K. Tiedemann
