4.7

The Dhammapada gathers 423 short verses traditionally attributed to the Buddha, offering reflections on ethical conduct and the path of Buddhist practice.

Arranged in 26 chapters, the verses address subjects including the mind, wisdom, anger, and the consequences of one’s actions. Their concise form makes the work less a continuous narrative than a collection to hear, consider, and return to.

Important in the Theravada tradition and read across Buddhist schools, the Dhammapada offers an accessible introduction to Buddhist teachings through brief, memorable sayings.

Great Text, Great Recording

Thank you for this recording. A great text executed in a wonderful recording. I frequently listen to it at night as i wait to fall asleep. 42. Whatever harm an enemy may do to an enemy, or a hater to a hater, an ill-directed mind inflicts on oneself a greater harm.
