Tales of the Left Hand, Book Two
John Meagher
Read by John Meagher
The “swashbuckling, intrigue, and a dash of magic” continues in Book Two of Tales of the Left Hand, as the Duke of Kohaya gives Tesca and Kayrla a new mission, one that takes them outside the Quad: A search for the secret haven of the most legendary pirate to ever sail the Frees. But time is precious, for the Duke’s enemies are hot on their heels.
When the Duke arranges for the pair to escort the enigmatic Captain Grivus on his expedition to find the haven (and treasure) of the notorious pirate Praeditorus Rex, Kayrla is thrilled at the prospect of going to sea once more. But unbeknownst to her, the Duke has given Tesca a second mission of greater priority than the first, one that may propel the Quad into war if it is revealed. This extra wrinkle further complicates matters as their journey proceeds. As their ship is attacked by a wily foe, the pair devises a desperate plan to survive that pushes both Tesca’s swordsmanship and Kayrla’s spellcraft to their limits, but will it be enough to save them?

The best book that I have listened to for a while. Nice and simple but a great story a brilliantly read to. Most of the books I have been listening to have been set in the future, it's a lovely change to listen to one set in the past. I do hope that the author reads this as I would like to thank him and all others involved in the making of this podcast. It was a pleasure to listen to. THANK YOU.
What an adventure!

I just love this series so far! I can't wait for the next book. The author is one of the best narrorators I've ever listened to (and that is REALLY saying something!) the accents are nothing short of marvelous. The characters are complex and loveable. I've nothing but complements!
Loved it!

I really enjoyed Book 1 and 2! The story is fast paced with lots of action and intrigue. I love the complexity of the world and the integration of magic into a realistic setting. The author reads very well and uses a great variety of accents which are excellently executed.

Great writing, great story and well developed characters. Narration is spot on and enjoyable to listen to. Also, I appreciate the fact that you get right to it; no long musical interludes to break the flow. Many of the self-narrated books here are ruined by the authors inclusion of their ...

Great book impossible to not follow every word during the audio reading! First audio book that I’ve been also impressed by the audio readers ability to distinguish the various characters very distinctly by using different voices. My commendations to John Meagher, great work, can’t wait for books 3 and 4.
Re-listen to this book ever so often

Excellent story. Well written and read. As someone from an island I think this reader does an excellent job with his islander's accent. The characters are all real and believable. I listen to all three, disappointed he never wrote book 4.

I couldn't get enough. love that there are small little instances to keep you guessing. IE the earing found in the love nest, and the grandmother's earing, only one. that being said, I'm only sad that book 3 isn't here yet. loved it. thank you.
