"Abie's Irish Rose" premiered on January 24, 1942, on NBC's WMAQ radio in Chicago. This captivating radio program is a spin-off from a successful Broadway play and explores the story of a good Irish-Catholic girl who falls in love with a nice Jersey-Jewish boy, highlighting the cultural clashes that ensue.

Despite its popularity, the serial lasted only two years, concluding on September 2, 1944. The show featured a talented cast, including Richard Bond, Sydney Smith, and Clayton "Bud" Collyer as Abie Levy, with Betty Winkler and Mercedes McCambridge portraying Rosemary Levy. The theme song for the series was "My Wild Irish Rose."
