Theodor Herzl

Theodor Herzl, born on May 2, 1860, in Budapest, Hungary, was a visionary journalist and playwright who became the father of modern political Zionism. His early career in journalism took him across Europe, where he witnessed the pervasive anti-Semitism that ultimately inspired his commitment to creating a Jewish state.
