This is a story about Jacob Pratt who “stood bond” for his brother and then lost all his money and was unable to pay his debts. Two years later his brother is finally able to restore him to an enviable financial position. Jacob rewards those who stood beside him during his time of trials and attempts to get even with those who had cast him aside. He finds that revenge is not always sweet. Engaging story with a likable protagonist who, rather trusting, gets himself into some precarious situations. He is up to any task though and quite remarkably so. The challenges faced are often humorous allowing for an enjoyable listen. As usual, Mr. Kilmer's narration is divine.

A very different sort of book than I am used to from Oppenheim. It was a great romp, and I recommend it to all who enjoy light adventurous romance. And, a hearty thanks to Richard for his easy listening narration.
