Libby Carter wanted to get away from it all, so she took a job mining asteroids as far out into the inky blackness as possible. However, her escape turned into a trap, leaving her stuck in indentured servitude, living on a tiny rock in space. As she tries to dig herself out, she gains friends and finds adventure. Cave-in rescues, planetary collisions, and other mishaps keep her new family fighting to stay alive.

The story starts slow. I put it down for awhile because of lack of interest. 2 weeks later I gave it another try because the protagonist is a young woman. Finally I became interested as the story expanded to include a variety of characters in a difficult environment. It's a coming of age story set in a science fiction genre which is highly realistic

This is a delightful sci-fi novel that opens up the world of asteroid mining through our head strong heroine. This is a light and easily accessible story, but with strong descriptive qualities that brings the location to life. I also appreciated the narrator....good job. I will certainly be looking out for more work from Brand Gamblin.

Buddy, Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. I've been working on it a lot in preparation for the print version, and you may enjoy the new beginning more. Still, I think you're right about her motivations being somewhat opaque. I had it clear in my mind, but perhaps I could illustrate ...

I hardly ever read books because I just fail to engage with them. I loved this audio book. It was just brilliant. I'm not very technical when it comes to literature and it's nearly impossible to find a book that I like. This was very very enjoyable and the narrator ...
