Sappy Syrup and a Zipideedodato yall

(1 Sterne)

Take away the bad sound quality and the modern views of racial portayals in the media and you would still be left with a bland sap riddled show that comes off as the sonic prosac of its time. The music...given all the great stuff that was going on in american music the pablum played on this show does everything to show American tastes as sharp as cold oatmeal. The over all flow of the show...a poor excuse for an extended pitch for folks to have thier brains branded so as to buy syrup. The series serves mostly to show that even in its golden age radio was plauged with little minded marketeers and a willing audience wanting to be sedated from the woes of the world via sonicly delivered dullness. History does in deed repeat on those to ignorant to learn from it..... and now a word from our sponsor...

What a pleasant series of commercials. Nice snapshot of a time when infomercials were slightly softer sellers. How about a side of "Wham" with those flapjacks, Mr. Blandings. Pancake Days is still happy days!
