The Rover Boys Out West

Read by Bellona Times

(4.6 stars; 41 reviews)

Despite the title, the Rover Brothers spend several chapters -- over half the book -- back East, against arch-nemeses Josiah Crabtree and the Baxter family. Formulaic fun was dated even by the 1940's when Orson Welles satirized it on the radio. - Summary by BellonaTimes

Arthur M. Winfield is a pen name used by the Stratemeyer Syndicate for the Rover Boys series. (5 hr 26 min)

This book was so crazy! it is the first book about the Rovers that I ever listened to, so getting introduced to the bad guys, and all was a little bit scary, especially the part where Dan was going to tar and feather Tom! but it was pretty interesting, and I liked that they were going on a mission for their father, to get the mine. One thing that I love about all books is when the boys or the girls have someone they want to marry when they grow up so I like that Dick, Tom and Sam want to marry Dora Nelly, and Grace.
