“Mr. and Mrs. Seth Appleby were almost old. They called each other 'Father' and 'Mother.' But frequently they were guilty of holding hands, or of cuddling together in corners, and Father was a person of stubborn youthfulness.” It is only by subterfuge that Seth is able every year to obtain his two week's vacation from the shoe store, and they are off to the farm-house of Uncle Joe Tubbs on Cape Cod. But this year the vacation turns into a full blown scheme to open a country tea room somewhere on Cape Cod, and their life suddenly begins to change. . . . (Introduction by Don W. Loved it!

An "old" (60s) couple, still in love and cooing after 40 years of marriage, embark on a wild dream of running their own tea shop. Such begins their life's adventure. It takes us to the depths, as well as to the heights. A very enjoyable story - highly recommended! I hope my husband and I are this loving to each other when we're 60. ;)

Good simple dramatic story! And Don W. Jenkins is one of my favorite readers. He manages to do different voices quite well without overdoing it like some others I've listened to.

Beautiful Story

Excellent book. Don Jenkins made the words of Sinclair Lewis come alive. It is so easy to become immersed in this tale. More, more, more

Truly a story for Lovrrs

Charming story enhanced perfectly by the narration of Don W. Jenkins, whose interpretation of the Applebys brought this story alive.

Charming tale

A charming, sentimental tale of the joys of unconventionality in later life. Nicely read by Don Jenkins. TheBookworm (Manchester, UK)
