The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (version 2)
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Read by Ruth Golding

A collection of twelve short stories featuring Conan Doyle's legendary detective, originally published as single stories in Strand Magazine and subsequently collected into a single volume.
There is not always a crime committed nor a culprit to find, and when there is, Holmes does not invariably get his man. However, his extraordinary powers of deduction generally solve the mystery, often to the discomfiture of the official police force. Holmes is a man of many facets, and I do not share the common perception of Holmes as cold and humourless: his sense of fun can be sparkling, and there are moments of rare pathos. A LibriVox Listener
Reading was both clear and engaging; half a star lost on account of Mrs Golding's manor in voicing characters, which I personally found a little grating. Only half a star because it is exceedingly difficult to do voices which so not. The book quite lives up to it's reputation, and has served for me as an exceedingly good introduction to detective fiction as a whole.
Impeccable reading.

Ruth Golding makes these stories come alive with her excellent reading skills. Each character is given a convincing voice of their own for greater dramatic impact. Thank you, Ms Golding.

the narrator is quite pleasant and has a good variety of voices she uses to add depth to dialog.
